What Is the SuRIA Home Rebate?

SuRIA Home (Sustainable Rebate & Incentive Assistance) is a one-time cash rebate from the Malaysian government for homes that install rooftop solar. It was announced on 22 May 2026 and replaces the SolaRIS rebate, which has closed.

How Much You Get

The rebate is RM600 per kWac, up to a maximum of RM3,000 per customer. kWac is the AC output of your inverter.

Who Can Get It

• Malaysian citizen
• TNB domestic account in your own name (company accounts do not qualify)
• Your solar system is installed under Solar ATAP
• The system is commissioned by 31 December 2026
• You have not received the SolaRIS rebate before
• One rebate per customer

Dates That Matter

• 1 June 2026 — the rebate opened
• 31 December 2026 — last day for your system to be commissioned
• The rebate is first come, first served, so it can close earlier if the allocation is taken up

How the Rebate Is Paid

There is no separate rebate form to fill in.

1. Your installer submits the Solar ATAP application for your home
2. The system is installed and commissioned
3. TNB emails eligible customers at their registered email address
4. You give TNB your bank account details
5. TNB transfers the rebate to your account

Before You Decide

1. Do not leave it to December — commissioning takes time and the rebate is first come, first served
2. Check your TNB account — it has to be in your name, with an email address you read
3. Keep your documents — quotation, contract and commissioning papers
4. Size for your own use — a bigger system than you need does not raise the rebate above RM3,000
